Before you begin

## Clear answers
before you order.

How should I prepare for my blood draw?

Follow the preparation instructions for your specific tests. If fasting is required, drink only water during the fasting period; coffee can affect results. Ask your prescribing clinician about medications and supplements before your appointment, and do not change them on your own.

How much blood will be drawn?

The number of tubes depends on the tests in your order. Several tests can use the same sample, so the biomarker count does not equal the number of tubes. If you feel anxious about needles or have fainted during a draw before, tell the Quest staff when you arrive.

When will I get my results?

Timing depends on the tests in your order. Some results take longer to process than others, so your results may not all become available at once. Check your account for updates and contact support if you have questions about an outstanding result.

Why does my report show laboratory and functional ranges?

Your report shows laboratory reference ranges alongside functional ranges used for educational interpretation. A value outside a displayed range does not by itself diagnose a condition or mean treatment is needed. Discuss your results with a clinician who can consider your symptoms, medications, and health history.

How do I find a Quest Diagnostics location?

Use Find a Lab to search for a nearby Quest Diagnostics location. Once your lab order is ready, follow the scheduling and preparation instructions provided with it. Check the location’s appointment availability and what you need to bring before your visit.

Why do you ask about my health history?

Your symptoms, medications, supplements, family history, and daily habits help put your results in context. Complete your health profile so that information is available alongside your lab results. It can also help you prepare questions for your clinician.

Can I share my results with my doctor?

Yes. Download your lab report as a PDF from your account and bring it to your appointment, or ask your clinician how they prefer to receive it. You can also refer to previous results when discussing what has changed.

What does the Functional Health Report help me understand?

The report explains what your biomarkers measure and groups results by body system. It includes educational guidance on food, activity, sleep, and other habits, with suggested next steps to discuss with your clinician. Use it to prepare for that conversation, including questions about results you do not understand.

Where are my tests processed?

Your blood draw and laboratory testing take place through Quest Diagnostics. Your results are available in your Vitals Vault account, where you can explore them alongside the explanations in your Functional Health Report.

Do I need to get a referral before ordering?

You do not need to arrange a separate referral before choosing a panel. Required lab orders are handled through the physician network. Complete the information requested after checkout so your order can be processed before you schedule your draw.
